Bio For Bengt Washburn
Bengt Washburn (pronounced "bent") is a self-proclaimed unaccomplished Mormon. His act has been described as intelligent, whereas Bengt himself is usually described as ditzy, neurotic and logistically impaired.
Bengt’s show is constructed out of his mistakes, all the details of the “carefully crafted series of unfortunate decisions” that are his life. A prolific comic, he has produced a DVD, “Mormon Meets World”, and two CDs, “Get Bengt” and “Hell Bengt”. Both CDs can be heard on XMRadio. Television Appearances include CBS – The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and Comedy Central – Live at Gotham. Radio credits include The Bob and Tom Show, The Todd and Tyler Show, The Bob Rivers Show, Public Radio International, NPR and XMComedy. Bengt is the Winner of the San Francisco International Comedy Competition. He was been invited to perform at The Boston Comedy Festival, the Vancouver International Comedy Festival and the 2002 Winter Olympics. In 2008, Bengt entertained the Troops in Iraq. His ever-evolving act is sometimes topical, often autobiographical, at times poignant, mostly true and of course very, very, funny. He’s a one-of-a-kind gem on the American comedy landscape.
