Kathleen Madigan

Jerry Lewis was wrong when he said that female stand-ups are not funny! Obviously, he has never met or seen Tonight Show veteran and St. Louis native Kathleen Madigan. Voted best female stand-up at the American Comedy Awards, Kathleen has made the most of her career. Kathleen started at an open mic night in 1990, and has since made numerous television appearances and sold out comedy clubs and theatres across the country.

2002 turned out to be another successful year for the former journalist turned stand up. Kathleen starred in the The Couch, a pilot project produced for Comedy Central by Happy Days alumnus Henry Winkler - a big supporter of Kathleen's topical, sarcastic and humorous take on everyday occurrences. In 2001, she starred in her own half hour comedy special titled Comedy Central Presents: Kathleen Madigan. Kathleen also returned from Melbourne, Australia where she taped the special Comedy Central's World Comedy Tour.

In addition to her recent work on Comedy Central, Kathleen has starred in her own popular HBO Half Hour Comedy Special. She is a 12-time veteran of the Tonight Show, and has also made several appearances on Late Nite with David Letterman and The Conan O'Brien Show. After a recent appearance at the prestigious "Montreal Just For Laughs Comedy Festival," Kathleen released another CD titled Shallow Happy Thoughts For The Soul and is spending time between touring and her home in Los Angeles.
